Dhanush had been born like Prabhu Kasturirajan on February 25, 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His/her father is Kasturirajan, a Tamoul realizer. His/her Selvaraghavan brother, is also a director and is married with the actress Sonia Aggarwal who was the Co-star of Dhanush. He has two older sisters.

The wife of Dhanush is Aishwarya Rajnikanth, the wife of Rajnikanth of superstar. They have a son called Yathra.

Films of Dhanush
Dhanush made a tepid beginning with Thulluvadho Ilamai into 2002 which was directed by its rajah de Kasturi of father and Sherin held the first role. In 2003, he was seen the directorial beginning Kaadhal Kondein of his Selvaraghavan of brother who was a great success and was deferred to his next film Thiruda Thirudi too.

Both his releases, Sullan and dreams, failed in 2004. Its films did not go up to strike the statute in 2005 with Devathaiyai Kanden and Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam. He worked with his brother in Pudupettai in 2007 and like Thiru in Thiruvilayadal Arambam with the saran of Shriya. The film was produced by its Dr. Vimala Geetha of sister and was a success.
